Our Story
In the heart of the city of Santa Rosa, California, a small but spirited community gathered to form the CMFI City Harvest Center, a Pentecostal Christian Church pulsing with faith and purpose.
Its roots stretched back to a bold vision born in 1990, when a Fijian Pastor Suliasi Kurulo, filled with a fire for evangelism, founded the Christian Mission Fellowship International (CMFI) in the nation of Fiji. His dream was simple yet audacious: to plant Christ-centered communities that would transform lives across the globe.
The story of City Harvest Center began with a handful of believers, drawn together by Pastor Kurulo's teaching of hope, worship and action. They met in modest spaces-living rooms, community halls-sharing songs, prayers, and a conviction that their faith in Christ Jesus could move mountains. Under the CMFI Umbrella, which by then had grown to thousands of members and churches in 120 countries, guided under the leadership of the late Pastor Manasa Waqanigica, City Harvest Center established itself as a beacon in California, embodying Kurulo's mission to serve and uplift.
Pastor Kurulo, once a government engineer, had traded blueprints for souls, knocking on doors and preaching in villages long before CMFI's global reach. His journey inspired the late Pastor Manasa Waqanicagica and the City Harvest Center congregation, who saw their church as more than a building-it was a movement. By 2023. the church had become a vibrant hub, hosting outreaches, feeding the hungry and welcoming all who sought connection. Every Sunday, the sanctuary is filled with voices lifted in praise, a testament to a legacy that began with one man's faith and a community's courage to carry it forward.
Our Mission

Our Beliefs
At CMFI City Harvest Center, our mission is to foster and grow a compassionate connection with our communities, guided by the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. The following statements reflect the core biblical principles and the church's core mission
-
We believe in the Holy Trinity: There is one God, eternally existing in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-equal in power and glory (Matthew 28:19; Corinthians 13:14)
-
We believe the Bible is God's Word: The scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are divinely inspired, infallible, and the ultimate authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Peter 1:20-21)
-
We believe in Jesus Christ as Savior: Jesus, fully God and fully man, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven and will return to judge the world and reign forever (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11)
-
We believe in salvation by grace through faith: Humanity, fallen in sin, is reconciled to God solely through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works but by God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:23-24)
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit's empowering presence: The Spirit indwells believers, convicts of sin, guides into truth, and empowers for holy living and bold witness (John 16:13; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-23)
-
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit: This distinct experience, often accompanied by speaking in tongues, equips believers for service and a deeper walk with God (Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
-
We believe in divine healing: God's power to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually is available today through prayer and faith, as part of Christ's atonement (James 5:14-15; Isaiah 53:5).
-
We believe in the mission of the Church: As Christ's body, we are called to worship God, disciple believers and share the Gospel with all nations, serving others in love (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15).
-
We believe in the sanctity of life and community: Every person is created in God's image, and we are called to love, serve, and build up our communities in Christ's name (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 22:39).
-
We believe in the return of Christ and eternal life: Jesus will return to establish His kingdom; believers will dwell with Him eternally, while the unrepentant face judgement (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
